The Arrogant Muslim

The Arrogant Muslim: "

Here is another great post from Konservo

The Arrogant Muslim: ’

Over at The American Arrogant Muslim (TAM), apologists are hard at work trying to separate The Religion of Peace™©® (ma) from any violence and oppression practiced by adherents of said ROP®©™ (ma):

[Michael] Scheuer observes that a new generation of middle class, well-educated Muslims are taking up arms to fight for Al-Qaeda. Furthermore, he points out the main reason why America is unable to defeat Bin Laden is because the US government refuses to acknowledge–and tell the American people–its longstanding policies toward the Muslim world are the root of the problem. Here’s the main quote:

‘Our leaders say he and his followers hate us because of who we are, because we have early primaries in Iowa every four years and allow women in the workplace. That’s nonsense. I don’t think he would have those things in his country. But that’s not why he opposes us. I read bin Laden’s writings and I take him at his word. He and his followers hate us because of specific aspects of U.S. foreign policy. Bin Laden lays them out for anyone to read. Six elements: our unqualified support for Israel; our presence on the Arabian peninsula, which is land they deem holy; our military presence in other Islamic countries; our support of foreign states that oppress Muslims, especially Russia, China and India; our long-term policy of keeping oil prices artificially low to the benefit of Western consumers but the detriment of the Arab people; and our support for Arab tyrannies who will do that.’ (emphasis added [by the arrogant Muslim])

It’s quite clear where Scheuer and The Arrogant Muslim stand when it comes to terrorism, namely, a) uncritically believe every thing that terrorists say and b) appeasement!

Let’s look at some of the complaints offered by bin Laden, Scheuer and TAM:

1) They have a problem with our support of Israel… Who would they have us support, these guys:

2) bin Laden, Scheuer and TAM have a problem with our being on Islamic ‘holy land’ (they will also claim that this complaint has nothing to do with Islam but, rather, it is a matter of policy, however I will not be addressing that asinine assertion here). Again, I have to ask why TAM, bin Laden and Scheuer are bitching. It must be this inherently evil foreign policy:

The Arabian Peninsula: US Principles - US Department of State Dispatch,  Sept 3, 1990  by George Bush

In the life of a nation, we’re called upon to define who we are and what we believe. Sometimes, these choices are not easy. But today as President, I ask for your support in a decision I’ve made to stand up for what’s right and condemn what’s wrong - all in the cause of peace.

At my direction, elements of the 82d Airborne Division, as well as key units of the United States Air Force, are arriving today to take up defensive positions in Saudi Arabia. I took this action to assist the Saudi Arabian government in the defense of its homeland.

Deliciously evil!

[A]fter consulting with King Fahd, I sent Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney to discuss cooperative measures we could take. Following those meetings, the Saudi government requested our help. And I responded to that request by ordering US air and ground forces to deploy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mwahahahahaha! And now he explains why the U.S. military was to remain in Saudi Arabia:

US forces will work together with those of Saudi Arabia and other nations to preserve the integrity of Saudi Arabia and to deter further Iraqi aggression.

Through their presence, as well as through training and exercises, these multinational forces will enhance the overall capability of Saudi armed forces to defend the kingdom.

Brilliant! We will occupy the lands of Islam by training the armed forces of the Kingdom to defend themselves!

King George I admits his plan for world domination in the above document….

Oh, wait. No. He has no plan for world domination, nor does America wish to occupy Muslim lands… Perhaps I need to explain this to Muslims who can’t quite grasp the situation.

We (The UNITED STATES of AMERICA) were there to save the lives of innocent people, most of whom were Muslims!

However, this is not the way that bin Laden tells the story:

OBL 1996

The people of Islam awakened and realised that they are the main target for the aggression of the Zionist-Crusaders alliance. All false claims and propaganda about ‘Human Rights’ were hammered down and exposed by the massacres that took place against the Muslims in every part of the world.

The latest and the greatest of these aggressions, incurred by the Muslims since the death of the Prophet (ALLAH’S BLESSING AND SALUTATIONS ON HIM) is the occupation of the land of the two Holy Places -the foundation of the house of Islam, the place of the revelation, the source of the message and the place of the noble Ka’ba, the Qiblah of all Muslims- by the armies of the American Crusaders and their allies. (We bemoan this and can only say: ‘No power and power acquiring except through Allah’).

And again, OBL’s 1998 delusions:

First, for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples.

If some people have in the past argued about the fact of the occupation, all the people of the Peninsula have now acknowledged it. The best proof of this is the Americans’ continuing aggression against the Iraqi people using the Peninsula as a staging post, even though all its rulers are against their territories being used to that end, but they are helpless.

Second, despite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, which has exceeded 1 million… despite all this, the Americans are once against trying to repeat the horrific massacres, as though they are not content with the protracted blockade imposed after the ferocious war or the fragmentation and devastation.

So here they come to annihilate what is left of this people and to humiliate their Muslim neighbors.

Third, if the Americans’ aims behind these wars are religious and economic, the aim is also to serve the Jews’ petty state and divert attention from its occupation of Jerusalem and murder of Muslims there. The best proof of this is their eagerness to destroy Iraq, the strongest neighboring Arab state, and their endeavor to fragment all the states of the region such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Sudan into paper state lets and through their disunion and weakness to guarantee Israel’s survival and the continuation of the brutal crusade occupation of the Peninsula.

However, these are fabrications of a man who has had his pride trampled upon by his own country, and it seems that TAM and Scheuer have no desire to acknowledge the truth about bin Laden’s hatred of America:

When Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, bin Laden wanted Arab veterans of the Afghan war to help the Saudi army defend Saudi Arabia.

This prompted the Saudis to laugh in OBL’s face. They needed real help, so they asked the U.S. to bail them out.

He [OBL] saw the arrival of American troops to confront Saddam—and the continued U.S. military presence in the Gulf after the war—as a violation of the sanctity of Muslim territory.

Indeed. bin Laden was personally insulted by the Kingdom and he saw the presence of American forces in the Gulf as an affront to Islam, the ROP©®™ (ma)!

So is bin Laden’s beef with America based in religion or politics?

Hint: As TAM knows perfectly well, Islam is an all-encompassing ideology that most certainly inspires laws and political practices in the Islamic world (that is why it’s called the Islamic world). In these lands the governments do not separate Islam from politics, and I dare TAM to dispute this fact. Therefore, any interaction whatsoever that the U.S. has with the Muslim world necessarily is an interaction with Islam. Further, any reactions from Muslims, whether extremist, moderate, or whatever, are necessarily skewed by the adherents’ understanding of Islamic ideology.

In short, willingness to overlook the use of the elderly, of women and children as human shields if it is furthering the cause against the ‘Zionist entity’ springs from Islamic ideology.

Willingness to hijack an aeroplane and crash it into the side of building full of people, killing thousands of innocents, springs from an understanding of Islamic ideology.

The personal agenda and motives of the crazed Islamic ideologue matter not, when he is basing his calls for mass-murder explicitly and implicitly on Islamic principles and foreign policies which he claims violate the dignity of Islam and Muslims.

The American Muslim sums up research which they have cited:

The bottom line: Muslims are opposed to US foreign policy, but not necessarily American political values and economic prosperity.

And here is the bottom line of their analysis of bin Laden’s complaints:

Our preliminary analysis shows that Bin Laden spends a preponderant amount—close to half—of the time railing against Western countries about their policies, and much less time talking about religion. Some religious self-justification is used, but it is not the main content of his statements.

Accordingly, TAM finds that Muslims would have preferred that Saddam go unchecked in his invasion of Kuwait, and that America should throw away any sense of right and wrong as Palestinians continue to allow sociopathic Muslim leaders to use civilians (including the elderly, women, and children) as living bombs and human shields.

TAM thinks that we should give bin Laden, Ron Paul (yes, TAM speaks quite fondly of ’Dr.’ Paul) and the Muslims, from whom they gathered data, the benefit of the doubt…

I disagree. My rationale can be found in the posts here.
